Who this is for: self-serve plans (Free, Starter, Pro, Enterprise). On a Cleanlist AppSumo lifetime deal, LinkedIn profile lookups and the Lists tab work on every tier, but company websites, Salesforce and the in-CRM Enrich button are not part of the deal unless you add a paid Cleanlist plan. See the AppSumo documentation. Support agent: confirm whether the user is self-serve or AppSumo before giving plan-specific advice.
TL;DR: The Cleanlist Chrome extension opens a side panel next to the page you are on. On a LinkedIn profile (every plan) you save the person to a list and reveal a work email, phone or personal email. On a company website (Starter and above) the panel lists people at that company who match your targeting. On Salesforce (Pro and Enterprise) it reads the record you are on and enriches it, and an Enrich Contact with Cleanlist button appears inside Salesforce and HubSpot records. The panel reads only the tab's address, not the page content. There is no separate login: it uses your portal session.
Cleanlist Chrome extension
The Cleanlist extension adds a side panel to Chrome. It follows you from tab to tab, shows what Cleanlist can do with the page in front of you, and saves people to your lead lists without switching to the portal.
What the extension reads and adds
Reads: only the address of the active tab. On a LinkedIn profile that is the profile URL, on a company website it is the domain, on Salesforce it is the record. The address is used as an identifier for the lookup. The panel does not read the page content.
Adds to pages: a small floating Cleanlist button on the right edge of the page, whose only job is to open the panel. On Pro and Enterprise it also adds an Enrich Contact with Cleanlist (or Enrich Lead with Cleanlist) button to Salesforce and HubSpot records.
Data: profile details and contact data come from Cleanlist's contracted data providers through the waterfall, with email verification.
What the panel shows on each page
Page you are on | What the Prospect tab shows | Plan |
LinkedIn profile, or a Sales Navigator lead page | The person's profile, a list picker and contact reveal | Every plan |
Any company website | Cleanlist Anywhere: the company and the people there who match your targeting | Starter and above |
Salesforce Account | People at the account's website, plus the Agents tab | Pro and Enterprise |
Salesforce Contact or Lead | The record, a LinkedIn match and Enrich | Pro and Enterprise |
HubSpot, LinkedIn feed, search or company pages, the Cleanlist portal | "Nothing to prospect here" | |
Browser pages such as chrome:// and the Chrome Web Store | "This page can't be read" |

<video src="/install-linkedin-extension.mp4" controls playsInline muted style={{ width: '100%', maxWidth: 700, borderRadius: 8, border: '1px solid #e5e7eb', margin: '1.5rem 0' }} />
Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension
Pin Cleanlist to your toolbar
Sign in at app.cleanlist.ai in the same Chrome browser
Open the panel. It picks up your portal session by itself: there is no login form and no API key
You can also reach the install page from the portal: account menu (your name, bottom left) → Extension. The extension needs Chrome 116 or later.
Optional permissions
Chrome asks for two optional permissions the first time they matter. You can decline both; the panel still works on LinkedIn and still opens from the toolbar, the shortcut and the right-click menu.
All sites: the first time you click the Cleanlist toolbar icon on an ordinary website, Chrome asks to let Cleanlist run on all sites. Allowing it shows the floating Cleanlist button on every website. Without it, the button appears on LinkedIn only.
Salesforce and HubSpot: click the Cleanlist toolbar icon on a Salesforce or HubSpot tab and allow access. This is what lets the Enrich Contact with Cleanlist button appear on CRM records.
Open the panel
Click the Cleanlist icon in the Chrome toolbar
Press Ctrl+Shift+L (Command+Shift+L on Mac)
Right-click the page and choose Open Cleanlist
Click the floating Cleanlist button on the right edge of the page. Drag it up or down to move it; it remembers where you left it
The panel stays open as you browse and follows the active tab.
The panel at a glance
Header: your credit balance (click it to open Plans & billing), a light and dark mode toggle, and your account menu. The account menu shows Workspace: with the workspace name, and Open Cleanlist.
Tabs: Prospect (what Cleanlist can do with this page), Lists (your lead lists) and Agents (only on a Salesforce Account page, Pro and Enterprise).
The panel always works in the workspace that is active in the portal. To use another workspace, switch it in the portal (account menu → Switch organization) and the panel follows.
When the panel closes by itself
The panel looks up every profile, company website and Salesforce record you land on, so it closes itself when you are browsing without using it. After 3 of those pages in a row with no action in the panel, it shows Closing to save credits with a Keep open button, then closes about 6 seconds later. Any action in the panel resets the count, and pages you visit while a reveal is running don't count. Reopen it any time.
Viewing a page in the panel costs no credits. You pay only for contact details you reveal or enrich.
LinkedIn profiles
Works on every plan, including Free and every AppSumo tier.
Open a LinkedIn profile (or a Sales Navigator lead page) and open the panel. The person loads automatically: experience, about, company, education and skills
Choose a list in Save leads to…, or create a new one from the same menu. To save the person without any enrichment, click the + button (Add and the person's first name to list). Saving is free
In the contact box, tick what you want: Work email, Phone, Personal email. Work email is ticked by default
Click Reveal · N, where N is the most it can cost. The panel shows Enriching… while Cleanlist checks its providers, then fills in what it found
Good to know:
A field Cleanlist already tried for this person and could not find is not offered again, so you are not charged twice for the same miss.
If the profile isn't in Cleanlist's data yet, the panel shows "Not in our data yet" (the profile may be new, private or recently renamed).
If you are out of credits, the panel shows Add credits, which opens Plans & billing. Cleanlist checks your balance before it starts, so nothing is spent on a run you can't afford.
Where results go
The list you picked in Save leads to…. The panel remembers your last list.
With no list picked, the person goes to your Extension Leads list. Cleanlist creates it for you the first time and protects it, so it can't be renamed, shared or deleted. Each teammate gets their own.
If your workspace syncs enriched leads to HubSpot or Salesforce, contacts you reveal reach your CRM through that same sync. See HubSpot and Salesforce.
Company websites (Cleanlist Anywhere)
Starter, Pro, Enterprise and the Pro trial. Not on Free. Not on AppSumo-only workspaces; adding a monthly or annual plan unlocks it.
Open any company's website and open the panel. Cleanlist finds the company by the website's domain and lists the people who work there that match your targeting.
Targeting comes first. By default the panel uses your workspace profile: the target personas (job titles) and locations saved on the Agents page, Profile tab. Without one, the panel shows Set up your profile to prospect the web with Set up my profile, which opens that tab.
Choose a persona
Next to People, the persona menu (Choose a persona) switches the targeting:
Workspace default: the titles and locations from your workspace profile
Any persona shared in your workspace
Manage personas: opens Find People with the personas drawer, where you create and edit them
A line under the heading ("Targeting" followed by the titles and locations) shows what is being matched. The panel remembers your choice.
Find and add people
Pick a list in Save leads to…. Reveal and add buttons stay disabled (Pick a list first) until you do
Browse the results, 25 at a time. Click Load more for the next page. Each row shows the person's title, location and time in role, a LinkedIn link, and a mark when they are Already in Cleanlist, Already in Salesforce or Already in HubSpot (click a mark to open the record)
For one person: click the reveal button for email, phone or personal email, or Add to list to save them without enrichment
For several people: tick their rows (or Select all), choose Just add, Email, Phone or Both in the footer, and click Add N to list (or Add N to list and enrich). The footer shows the most the selection can cost ("up to N")
The company card at the top shows Company on LinkedIn, Company website, headcount, founding year and HQ. Open in portal opens the same search in Find People, where you can widen it.
If nobody matches, the panel shows Nobody matched here with Widen in portal: your personas matched no job titles at that company. In Find People, broaden the titles or set Title match to Broad.
Searches in the panel cost no credits and don't use your Find People search allowance.
Salesforce
Pro, Enterprise and the Pro trial (Scale on legacy plans). Salesforce must be connected in Integrations. Not on AppSumo-only workspaces.
Open a Salesforce record in Chrome and open the panel. Cleanlist reads the record through your workspace's Salesforce connection. Reading it is free.
Account pages
The panel takes the account's Website and shows the Cleanlist Anywhere view for that domain: people at the account who match your targeting, with the same reveal and add-to-list actions as on a company website. If the account has no website, the panel shows No website on followed by the account name. Add the website in Salesforce and reopen the panel.
Contact and Lead pages
The panel shows the record's name, Title, Company and Email, then looks for the person's LinkedIn profile:
If the record has a LinkedIn URL, or exactly one person matches the name and employer, the full profile view opens below the record, with the same Save leads to… and Reveal · N controls as on LinkedIn.
If several people match, pick the right one under Is this them? and click View.
These automatic lookups are free. After 25 in one panel session they pause, and the panel asks Look this person up? with Find on LinkedIn.
If there is no match ("No LinkedIn profile on this record" or "No LinkedIn match found"), click Enrich. Cleanlist finds a work email and direct phone from what the record holds and writes them back to the Salesforce record. It costs the same as the in-CRM button below.
The result shows as a headline such as Enriched and written back, This record already has a good email (nothing was bought), No new data found, Providers were unavailable (nothing was written; try again later) or Enriched, but the write-back failed. Write-back follows your CRM write rules, so a protected record can be skipped.
Agents tab
On a Salesforce Account page, an Agents tab appears next to Prospect. It runs your skills on the account:
Research: builds a picture of the account: what they do, how they are positioned, and what changed recently
Qualification: scores the account against your ICP and says why it does or does not fit
Each custom skill you have created
Click Run on this account. You can close the panel while it runs; the result is there when you come back
Click Save to Salesforce. The result is written to a long-text field on the Account: Cleanlist Research, Cleanlist Qualification, or Cleanlist Custom Agent for a custom skill. Cleanlist creates the field on the first save, which needs the connected Salesforce user to have permission to customize the org. Running again overwrites the field, and a result longer than the field holds is cut and marked "(truncated)"
The Agents tab needs your workspace profile (otherwise it shows Set up agents first with Set up agents) and a website on the account. A run costs the same per-record price as that skill on a company record; see Skills. If the balance is short, the panel says "Not enough credits for this run."
Enrich button inside Salesforce and HubSpot
Pro, Enterprise and the Pro trial (Scale on legacy plans). Not on AppSumo-only workspaces.
On a Salesforce Contact or Lead record, or a HubSpot contact record, the extension adds an Enrich Contact with Cleanlist (or Enrich Lead with Cleanlist) button. Click it to find a work email and direct phone and write them to the record. The caret next to it (Choose what to enrich) offers:
Option | Credits |
Email + direct phone (same as the main button) | up to 13 |
Email only | 1 per search, up to 3 |
Direct phone only | 10 if found, up to 12 |
When it finishes, a message shows the outcome with Refresh to see changes and Dismiss.
To see the button:
Allow Salesforce or HubSpot access: click the Cleanlist toolbar icon on a Salesforce or HubSpot tab and accept Chrome's prompt
Keep In-CRM enrichment switched on. An admin controls it per CRM: Integrations → the gear (Open CRM settings) on your Salesforce or HubSpot card → General tab → In-CRM enrichment ("Let reps enrich records directly from Salesforce and HubSpot with the Cleanlist extension button."). It is on by default. Switching it off for Salesforce also turns off the panel's Salesforce views
Lists tab
The Lists tab shows every lead list you can access, with its lead count. Click a list to open it in the portal.
Credits
The extension uses your workspace's credit balance.

Troubleshooting
The side panel does not open
Make sure the extension is installed and enabled at
chrome://extensions, and that Chrome is version 116 or laterClick the toolbar icon, press Ctrl+Shift+L (Command+Shift+L on Mac), or right-click the page and choose Open Cleanlist
Restart Chrome if you just installed the extension
"Sign in to Cleanlist" or "Connect the panel"
Sign in to Cleanlist: your portal session ended. Click Open Cleanlist, sign in, and the panel reconnects by itself within a few seconds
Connect the panel: open app.cleanlist.ai once in this Chrome browser so the panel can pick up your session
Connecting to Cleanlist…: wait a moment or click Retry now
"Nothing to prospect here"
The page has nothing for the panel to look up. Open a LinkedIn profile or a company website. LinkedIn feed, search and company pages, HubSpot and the portal always show this.
"Not available on your plan" or "Not available on AppSumo"
On a company website: Cleanlist Anywhere needs Starter or above, and is not part of the AppSumo deal unless you add a paid plan. LinkedIn profiles still work
On Salesforce: the message says reading Salesforce records is part of the Enterprise plan. On current plans, Pro includes it too (Scale on legacy plans)
"Set up your profile to prospect the web" or "Set up agents first"
Your workspace has no profile with target personas or locations. Click Set up my profile (or Set up agents) to create it on the Agents page, or pick a shared persona in the persona menu.
"Nobody matched here"
Your personas matched no job titles at this company. Click Widen in portal and broaden the titles or set Title match to Broad in Find People, or try another persona.

The Enrich button does not appear in Salesforce or HubSpot
Check that your workspace is on Pro or Enterprise (Scale on legacy plans)
Click the Cleanlist toolbar icon on a Salesforce or HubSpot tab and allow access
Ask an admin to check that In-CRM enrichment is on in that CRM's settings
Reload the record page
The panel closed by itself
After 3 pages in a row with no action, the panel closes. Click Keep open when the notice appears, or reopen the panel. Viewing pages never costs credits.
The panel shows the wrong workspace
The panel uses the workspace that is active in the portal. Switch it in the portal (account menu → Switch organization) and the panel follows.
A reveal returned nothing
Check your credit balance in the panel header. If you are out of credits, the panel shows Add credits
Work email and phone misses cost nothing. Personal email lookups are charged even when nothing is found
A field that came back empty is not offered again for that person
