Enrichment not finding results

If enrichment is returning low match rates, here are the most common causes and fixes.

Provide better input data

The more data you give Cleanlist, the better the results. Each contact requires at minimum:

  • A LinkedIn URL (best match rates), OR

  • First name + last name + company domain or company name

Providing both a LinkedIn URL and name/company data gives the highest match rates.

Common causes of empty results

  • Stealth-mode companies - Early-stage startups that are not yet indexed by data providers.

  • Recently hired contacts - People who just changed jobs may not be indexed at their new company yet.

  • Mismatched company domain - Make sure the domain matches the actual company, not a subsidiary or parent company.

  • Malformed or deactivated LinkedIn URLs - Check that URLs are complete and the profiles are still active.

Try these fixes

  1. Try alternate identifiers (name + company if LinkedIn URL failed, or vice versa).

  2. Use full enrichment instead of partial to search more providers.

  3. Check the email_status field - risky results may still be usable for outreach.

  4. Run the Data Quality: Domain Check smart column to verify company domains.

Phone numbers have lower match rates

Direct phone numbers are harder to find than emails across all data providers. This is normal. If phone enrichment returns fewer results than email, that is expected behavior.

No charges for empty results

Remember: you are never charged for failed enrichments. Credits are only deducted when data is successfully found.
