Key terms and concepts used throughout Cleanlist.

Core concepts

  • Waterfall enrichment - The process of cascading through multiple data providers in sequence to find contact information. If Provider A does not have the data, Provider B is tried, then C, and so on.

  • Credits - The unit of currency for enrichment and smart column operations. 1 credit = 1 email find, 10 credits = 1 phone find.

  • Lead list - A collection of contacts/leads that you can organize, enrich, analyze, and export.

  • Smart column - An AI-powered column that automatically analyzes or enriches each lead in a list. 17 types available.

  • Smart agent - A custom AI field where you define any question in natural language and AI answers it for each lead using their LinkedIn data.

  • Action column - A column that triggers external side effects (push to CRM, notify, re-enrich) rather than storing data.

Enrichment terms

  • Partial enrichment - Email only (1 credit per successful find).

  • Phone-only enrichment - Phone number only (10 credits per successful find).

  • Full enrichment - Email + phone (11 credits per lead).

  • Email status: Reliable - The email has been verified and is safe to send to.

  • Email status: Risky - The email exists but has potential deliverability issues (catch-all domain, unverifiable).

  • Email status: Unknown - Could not be verified. The mail server did not respond.

  • E.164 - The international phone number format used by Cleanlist (e.g., +14155551234).

Search and prospecting

  • ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) - A reusable definition of your target customer, used to score leads on fit.

  • AI people search - Natural language search across millions of professional profiles.

  • Confidence score - A rating (High/Medium/Low) indicating how well a search result matches your criteria.

Integrations

  • OAuth 2.0 - The secure authorization protocol used for CRM connections. Your CRM password is never stored.

  • Field mapping - Configuring which Cleanlist columns correspond to which CRM fields.

  • Upsert - Update a record if it exists, or create it if it does not. Prevents duplicates.

  • Webhook - An HTTP callback that notifies your system when an event occurs (e.g., enrichment complete).

Platform

  • AI Copilot - The conversational assistant (Cmd+J / Ctrl+J) that can perform actions and answer questions.

  • Command palette - Quick navigation tool (Cmd+K / Ctrl+K) to jump to any page.

  • Organization - Your team workspace. All leads, lists, and credits are shared within an organization.
