Email and in-app notifications

Manage Cleanlist notifications in Settings → Notifications: onboarding emails, low credit warnings and in-app notifications, who receives low-credit alerts, and how agent alerts reach you, including Slack.

Who this is for: self-serve plans (Free, Starter, Pro, Enterprise). If you bought a Cleanlist AppSumo lifetime deal, your features, limits, and pricing are different. See the AppSumo documentation instead. Support agent: confirm whether the user is self-serve or AppSumo before giving plan-specific advice.

TL;DR: Manage notifications in Settings → Notifications: Onboarding emails and Low credit warnings (Unsubscribe / Re-subscribe) and In-app notifications (Enable / Disable). Low credit warnings go to organization admins when the balance reaches 100 credits or fewer, at most once a day. These settings don't post to Slack; with Clu in Slack, linked members can also get agent alerts by DM.

Notifications

Cleanlist tells you about things that need attention by email and inside the app. You choose what you receive in Settings → Notifications. Your choices are saved to your user account and apply in every organization you belong to.

Settings → Notifications

Open it from the Settings gear at the bottom of the sidebar, then Notifications (in the You group). You can also type "Notifications" in the command palette (⌘K).

Onboarding emails

These are tips sent while you get started. To stop them, click Unsubscribe, or use the unsubscribe link in any onboarding email. That link opens this page with the message "Successfully unsubscribed: You will no longer receive onboarding emails. Any scheduled emails have been cancelled." Click Re-subscribe to get them again.

Low credit warnings

How the warning works:

  • When: after a charge, if your workspace's balance is 100 credits or fewer. The app shows this as "below 20%"; the 20% is measured against a fixed 500-credit baseline, not against your plan's monthly credits. The threshold can't be changed in the app.

  • Who: the organization's admins. Members who aren't admins don't receive it.

  • How often: at most once a day.

  • Where: by email (if Low credit warnings is on), in the app (if In-app notifications is on) and, for admins who linked their Slack account to Clu in Slack, as a Slack DM. The message gives the credits left and a Top up button that opens Settings → Plans & billing.

You can always see your balance at the bottom of the sidebar ("N credits" with a gauge). Add next to it opens Plans & billing to buy credits. Buying credits isn't available during the Pro trial.

In-app notifications

This switch controls the notices Cleanlist stores for you inside the app about enrichment results, credit warnings and system updates. The app doesn't show a notification list at the moment, so use email for credit warnings you must not miss.

Agent alerts

If you own an agent, Cleanlist tells you when it needs attention, for example when a play is paused after repeated failed checks or a trigger keeps failing. Alerts go to the agent's owner (and to admins for workspace-wide problems such as a disconnected CRM) by email, in the app and, if you linked your Slack account to Clu in Slack, by Slack DM or in the agent's Slack channel. Each alert is sent at most once a day, and when the problem clears you get a short "running again" note (in the app or Slack, not by email). See Agents.

Slack

The rows in Settings → Notifications cover email and in-app notifications only; they don't post to Slack. Slack is used in two other ways:

  • Clu in Slack (Pro and Enterprise): chat with Clu by DM or @mention. Members who link their Slack account can also receive the agent and low-credit alerts above as DMs.

  • Agent delivery: an agent can post its results to a Slack channel or DM you, set in the agent's Delivery settings.

Troubleshooting

Problem

What to check

I'm not getting low credit warnings

You must be an organization admin, Low credit warnings must show Unsubscribe (meaning you're subscribed), and the balance must be at 100 credits or fewer. Check your spam folder for mail from Cleanlist.

A teammate gets warnings but I don't

Warnings go to admins only. Ask an admin to make you an admin in Settings → Organization if you need them.

I want warnings earlier than 100 credits

The threshold isn't adjustable. Keep an eye on the balance at the bottom of the sidebar, or ask Clu "how many credits do I have?"

I unsubscribed from onboarding emails by mistake

Click Re-subscribe next to Onboarding emails.
